A first-of-its-kind milestone
In 2024, Valkim Technologies received ATEX and IECEx Zone 0 certification for its non-electric, pneumatically powered robotic crawling platform — the first of its kind ever certified for Zone 0 service.

- Scope: Equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, including Zone 0
The design and construction of the platform make operation intrinsically safe in oxygen-deficient and explosive environments, removing the need for hot-work permits, confined-space entry teams, and breathing apparatus during inspection campaigns.
